Mighty Max Doom Zone Review
Mighty Max Tangles with the Ape King, also known as Saves the Kingdom of Gargantua, is a Doom Zone play set with a Jungle theme. We get the Ape King figure as well as Zantar, the leader of the Gargantua tribe.
The play set doesn’t have any additional removable elements but we get an extended tree canopy and treehouse. There’s also a lot of moving pieces attached to the play set creating a tribal, jungle scene as the Ape King prepares humans to eat.
What’s the story here?
Deep in the jungle, Mighty Max gets summoned to save a tribe from the Ape King. Commanding a troop of his own Ape’s, Ape King has eaten his way through the human population and is about to eat Zantar. The Witch Doctor character we get in the play set.
Mighty Max escapes the cauldron Ape King has prepared. Then he leads the Ape King to get tangled with the massive snakes stalking out the camp. Zantar, the leader of the Gargantua Kingdom survives to lead his tribe.
Mighty Max TV Cartoon: Rumble in the Jungle
Mighty Max Tangles the Ape King inspired it’s own episode of the TV cartoon, Rumble in the Jungle. Basically, Planet of the Apes starring Mighty Max. The apes are taking over and it’s up to Mighty Max to neutralize the situation. Help the cave men survive the ape attacks, and help the apes realize they can work better with the Cave Men towards a mutual benefit.
The key antagonist is the general of the gorilla army, General Gorilla, who doesn’t think highly of humans.
By forcing the Ape King to accept and confirm to his followers that there is an outside world, Mighty Max was able to create harmony for the humans enslaved deep in the jungle.
